Getting Started with Social Media

Getting started on social media can be easier than you think!

Okay, so maybe you just got your brand new Zeeqk website up and live. Now you’re going to tackle new marketing avenues online and aren’t sure where to start. No worries, we’re here to help.

All social media platforms have the same basic rules, principles, and fundamentals when it comes to getting the most of each. Some social media channels may not work for you, your business, or your target demographic. For example, if your demographic is 30-40+, chances are you don’t need to be on Snapchat (average user aged between 18-24).

The obvious benefit of every social media channel is the ability to easily interact with your clients and prospective clients. Starting conversations, and promoting engagement with your content is key. Asking questions, being transparent, and posting fun, engaging content will grow your following and create brand loyalty.

Document your process! Something you may see as rudimentary or boring within your process may be the key element that a customer has never seen before, and gives you a unique edge above your competition. This could be a deciding factor between you and your competition. Creating good content also helps exponentially for a social media campaign, and your overall brand image as well. Avon hired us to take lifestyle product imagery of a line of fragrances for promotion on social media channels. As you can see, high impact content can gain quite the response when positioned properly!

Begin with learning the basics of each platform. For example, Instagram: Posting 1-2 times a week, or 1-2 times a day is acceptable, it all comes down to your preference. Incorporating #hashtags for better visibility, and higher quality photos attract more followers and engagements. Twitter: a more simplistic platform to tweet about any and everything that comes to mind, or anything that’s going on in your life/business.

Sometimes it’s okay to have moments of silence on social media, especially for smaller companies, people will understand that you are concentrating on your business instead of posting about your business. Don’t be afraid to come and go, so long as you have consistent content and showcase your services.
